Most “Act As If” techniques don’t work.

Why?

Because they aren’t detailed enough.

This one is different.

It uses transformational psychology, identity shifting, and working with the quantum field to tap into the most authentic version of yourself.

By the of end of this post, you know how to get yourself into a completely new way of thinking, where acting as if becomes second nature.

Let’s dive in.

What Does “Act As If” Even Mean?

Acting as if is one of many manifestation techniques to help you become the best version of yourself.

It works by taking on behaviors and characteristics of the person you would like to be, to assume that new identity.

Many people mistake it with “faking it till you make it”, but this is a misconception.

Fake it till you make it is ineffective, because most people will try acting like someone nothing like themselves.

However, act as if differs by learning how to be your authentic self.

How the Act As If Technique Works

We are all born completely whole and with no core beliefs or values.

And as we grow up, we take on the beliefs and values of our immediate family, friends, and teachers.

This can have detrimental effects in adult life, causing bad habits, low self worth, and lacking the confidence to be ourselves.

And this is where the act as if principle can help.

Shifting your behavior and the way you act can yield powerful results in your life.

When you act as if things are already the way you want them to be, life is easy, instead of hard and frustrating.

Moreover, you start to form new beliefs about yourself in a positive direction.

And when you create new beliefs about what you are capable of, it can give you an identity shift that is more congruent with who you were born to be.

It will help you develop successful habits and a new way of being.

How to use the Act As If technique

Follow the step-by-step manifestation process below to use the act as if technique with ease and flow.

Use a journal to take notes and take this time to really focus on yourself.

The whole process can take 15 – 20 minutes, but you’ll have better results when you take your time.

For best results, do it regularly. The more times you practice, the more effective it’ll be.

1. Imagine the most authentic version of yourself

The first step is to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Focus your attention on your heart and feel the sensations in your body.

Imagine yourself living the life you have always dreamed of. Create a mental image and use your senses to increase its intensity.

Ask yourself, who am I when I am being authentic?

What does the most authentic version of myself desire?

What were the things I dreamed of doing when I was a child?

Allow whatever pictures, sounds, feelings, or words come to your mind.

Spend some time journalling what you saw and write as much detail as possible.

2. Define what you truly want to be, do, and have

Leading on from the last step, make some notes on the person you want to be.

Model yourself on people you admire.

Remember, to act as if isn’t trying to be someone you’re not or copying someone else.

It’s tapping into the version of yourself that already exists inside you.

You don’t need to know what your true purpose is or where you’ll be in 10 years.

It could be something you want to be doing in the next few months or something you would like to buy for yourself this year.

Allowing yourself to dream and then practicing the act as if principle will take you onto a path you were destined to experience, even if you don’t currently know what that is.

3. What does this version of yourself value the most?

With this best version of yourself in mind, think about what is most important to you.

What would you truly value?

Health, wealth, relationships, contribution, fame, inner peace?

What would you be spending most of your money on?

The things you spend most of your money on are what you value most.

So if your most authentic and happy self spends a lot of money on business books, courses, and business coaches, then that’s what you value.

If you can imagine yourself spending most of your time and money working on your body, getting lean and fit, then you value health.

Or maybe you see yourself as a famous influencer with millions of followers on TikTok, then you value fame and a sense of significance.

Whatever it is you imagine your future self to value, it probably gets you excited just thinking about it.

4. What does this version of yourself believe?

Now that you’ve spent some time thinking and visualizing about your ideal self, it’s time to identify what beliefs this version of you would hold.

If you were already living your life as this person today, how would you feel about yourself and how would you talk to yourself?

Your internal self-talk is a huge indicator of what you believe.

Would you be cheering yourself on or beating yourself up?

If you want to be a successful author, become a digital nomad, or experience an abundance of love and financial wealth, how would that be possible if your predominant beliefs are self-doubt, worry, and fear?

To act as if effectively, you must reprogram your subconscious mind to remove unwanted beliefs that keep you stuck in limitation.

And this is what the act as if technique will help you do.

5. What would your future self know?

When you visualize your dream life, what are you an expert in?

It could be anything. From a public speaker to a freelance writer, to becoming a famous YouTube to selling your art on Etsy.

Whatever your passion, you are the creator of your life and it starts with knowing what that is.

Then you have to practice it every day.

To become the best version of you doesn’t require you to be the best in the world at “insert skill here”.

It only requires your willingness to learn and practice the things you love doing so much that you don’t care about the outcome.

You just do it. Without fear of failure or looking foolish.

How can you start?

By thinking of the books you would read, the online courses you would take, or the type of coach you would hire.

You could also create new social media sites and follow the type of people your future self would follow.

It will inspire and motivate you to behave in a completely new way of being.

6. What goals would you be setting?

Real goals are the ones in alignment with your true self.

So get real with yourself and ditch the goals you chase after to make yourself look better.

Instead, go after goals that make you feel alive and maybe even scare you a little.

It’s those goals that will stretch your comfort zone and help you raise your vibration to merge with your higher self.

So think about your dream life and who you want to be and define the goals you’ll be focusing on.

Dream big and start small. Think of the goals from the perspective of you in 3 years.

Where do you want to be then and what would you be aiming for?

And then start believing it is possible to achieve them sooner.

Maybe a year from now or even six months. Feel into the resistance and embrace it.

You don’t have to do anything to make it happen, only focus on raising your vibration and the rest will follow.

7. Plan your perfect day

By now, you’ll have a pretty solid idea of who you want to be and what you want to have.

Now it’s time to make a plan of what you need to do to make it happen.

Knowing all the steps isn’t important, just visualise the big picture and meditate on it.

Allow whatever comes to mind. You only need to define the first step.

When you feel certain of what you need to do, you’ll know and want to take action without hesitation.

It’ll just feel right.

Get yourself a planner or journal and break down your big one year goal and break it into quarters.

Define what you’ll need to achieve every 90 days to stay on track to your big goal.

Then break down the 90 days into actionable weekly tasks. And then daily.

Remember this, you only need to remind yourself of the big goal once every day, glace at your 90 day goals, and then define your weekly and daily tasks for the coming week only.

Review the past week every Sunday and then roughly plan the following week.

Then each day, choose 1-3 tasks that are the most important to hit your weekly tasks.

If you get overwhelmed, meditate on your future identity, remembering the values and beliefs required to act as if.

You’ll gradually start shifting your frequency and the doing part becomes effortless.
